Why Is America Exceptional?Russian President Vladimir Putin took issue with the idea of American exceptionalism in the New York Times this week:

It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation. There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord’s blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal.

In a letter sent to Putin, Heritage Foundation President Jim Demint explains that while all men are created equal, not all governments are.

And to ensure Putin understands why America is exceptional, DeMint enclosed a copy a Heritage booklet on the topic. It’s entitled, appropriately, Why Is America Exceptional?, and you can read it on Heritage.org. You can purchase a pack of 20 booklets from the Heritage bookstore.

What do you think? Is America exceptional? Or is Putin right?

History proved that when most Americans knew that God is supreme, their ethics and attitudes produced a great nation.

Dear Heritage Foundation,

Please begin looking into having the Obama administration taken before the International Criminal Court for violations of the Rome Statute, Article 7, subsection (h) under the Convention on Genocide. Lois Lerner, as a high ranking official in the Executive branch under the direct leadership of the President of the United States has (by her own e-mail admissions) willfully, systematically, and with malice committed CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY under the signatory agreement mentioned above of the ICC.

These gross violations of the sovereignty of the people cannot go unaddressed, and these violations have ramifications for the entire world. If the President of the United States can so blithely commit such high crimes then all other tin-pot dictators can do as they please with impunity. It must be made clear to the entire international community that such violations of the people’s sovereignty, by any nation, will not be tolerated.

I think America will be exceptional, if we keep God within us. We must always do what we can to preserve our God-given rights, also. I don’t honestly know how right Putin is. I’m sure he is angry that we can’t seem to pay Russia what we owe. I don’t know.
