The marriage debate is counter productive for Republican Conservatives. Gays are God’s creation and are equally entitled to pursue happiness in this great country. How does a gay wedding adversely impact heterosexuals of any religion? If Christianity is to survive as a religious institution it must acknowledge the reality that homosexuality is not a matter of choice, it is a matter of Creation. The gay community seeks acceptance in an atmosphere of rejection. The Republican Party should embrace homosexuality and take advantage of the creativity and productivity that these fellow citizens have to offer. Homosexuality and fiscal responsibility are not inconsistent with each other. Homosexuality and national defense are not inconsistent with each other. Our party needs to grow up and accept the fact that we have missed the boat on this issue.
