President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Heritage budget expert Paul Winfree to serve as his Director of Budget Policy and Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council.

“Paul’s clear-eyed expertise in economic analysis and budgeting, his knowledge of how Capitol Hill works, and his commitment to limited government, economic freedom and opportunity for all Americans make him an ideal selection,” Heritage President Jim DeMint said.

Winfree, who heads Heritage’s Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies as the Richard F. Aster Fellow, has been a voice for conservative budget policy for many years. We are excited to see the impact he makes in this new administration.
