Washington Post front page December 7, 2012The news spread like wildfire with after Thursday’s announcement that Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) will assume the role of president of The Heritage Foundation after Ed Feulner retires in April.

The news hit the front pages of news websites like the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Politico, the Hill, the New York Time, CNN, Fox News and Time, often appearing “above the fold.” Print editions of leading and local newspapers alike also ran the story prominently: both the New York Times and Washington Post ran the story on their front pages.

Much of the news coverage led with DeMint’s unexpected resignation from the Senate. But the articles also highlighted Heritage’s impact in the war of ideas.
