(L-r) Sentinels Kerry Luedke, Suzi Voyles, Katie Spee, Rob Spee (all from Georgia), and Heritage Action Regional Coordinator James Quarles went to Capitol Hill to support protection for babies who were born alive after a failed abortion attempt.

On Tuesday, pro-life members of Congress filed a discharge petition in the hopes of forcing a vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would protect babies born alive after a failed abortion attempt. Supporters need to build a bipartisan coalition of 218 lawmakers to sign a discharge petition that will force a vote on the House floor, circumventing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Heritage’s sister organization, Heritage Action for America, mobilized its grassroots army of activists, the Heritage Action Sentinels. On Wednesday, more than 50 Sentinels flew in to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of Congress and their staff to urge them to sign the discharge petition. According to Action, Sentinels will continue this momentum back in districts over Easter recess.

Some would have the conservative movement to scale back the abortion issue and focus elsewhere. How would you respond to them?

If not the unborn Americans, then who?

Marlene - April 5, 2019

Infanticide is beyond the pale. Many things to be concerned about but when you kill your own, society is in deep trouble.

Joan Stanley - April 5, 2019

Stop killing babies born alive & stop funding Planned Psrenthood with tax payer’s dollars for abortions of any kind.

Robert Paull - April 5, 2019

I can’t think of a stronger moral issue facing us than this one. It clearly defines and separates US from THEM.

Alan Harris - April 5, 2019

The Born Alive Protection law should be promoted separately from the traditonal abortion issue; it will attract more support.

James Ruark - April 5, 2019

If we don’t stand up for the unborn and the newly
born. No one will. We are a country of morals. These little ones whether born or not are humans. Life has value. When life is taken this way it is murder.
God is watching He is taking into account all that we do. One day we will answer.

Sandra Pray - April 5, 2019

Never compromise the abortion issue. The US must stop all babies death through abortion, unless it is a danger to the mother. The innocent blood shed has left a very dark mark upon the sponsorship of a free country. Please take an accessment upon this planet of the dark forces at work against our very freedoms as a free people.

Caroline Gabel - April 5, 2019

No, no, no do not scale back on abortion! We have made tremendous progress on education and awareness of the truth of abortion—it’s lasting harm to the woman mentally & emotionally; the brutality of the procedure, the act of murder. You cannot abandon this cause!!!

Bill and Karen Quigley - April 5, 2019

My wife and I have long felt that abortion is the taking of a human life. We oppose abortion. This is only one of the reasons we provide financial support for Heritage, ADF, AFA and Focus. We pray nearly every night for the defeat of all those who support abortion. We also pray for expectant moms at any level or station in life to carry that precious life to full term.

Janet DeVriendt - April 5, 2019

I think that life is mega-important and the abortion issue is of the utmost importance.

Matthew Ripplinger - April 5, 2019

Now is the time to strike: national attention is on the horrendous late-term abortion practices. This issue is at the heart of our morality, which is at the heart of the God-given success of America. NO social or economic issue is more important than our respect for life.

Anonymous - April 5, 2019

The first unalienable right, under our Declaration of Independence, was not made in error.
Life.

For those who seek to eliminate the Electoral college, what would they say of Abraham Lincoln – the President of The Emancipation Proclamation – who won the election, due to the Electorate.
Not the 39% Plurality.
If we eliminated the Electoral college- had it been that way back then- where might our Nation be today?.

When we’ve reached a point in our country, where being a patriot (regardless upon which side of the aisle one rests)- becomes an evil word, what does that say of America?.

And this is not in reference to campaign slogans.

Simply as an American, who cherishes freedom, the right to free speech, civic debate, but the first of all rights- is the right to Life.

What lesson are we sending to the world when our Nation- when it comes to slaughtering the preborn, knowing that science and advanced technology proves a fetus can sense and feel pain in utero (this cannot be denied- nor how humans are made, naturally or in-vitro)- the USA shares the same bed with NKorea, China, India, when it comes to this singular issue: the taking of innocent life.

The coarsening of our society as a whole, the lack of gratitude, civility, respectful discourse- has been trampled by a culture underpinned by violence.

If we fail to protect the very weakest who cannot fight for themselves – what message does that send, what example does that set for each passing generation growing up in such a culture?

It leads only to more violence; even of those considered strong.

The more that Patriotism is defiled and becomes something which Americans feel no longer is welcomed within our own being and borders of the United States, that is a point of unrelenting reckoning for the spirit of America. And it will signal a trumpet of epic proportions, to return towards that which made our Country what it was in its infancy in the battle for Freedom.

A return to Life – the very first unalienable right, of being, an American.

Michael Stempihar - April 5, 2019

Those who would have the conservative movement scale back the abortion issue need reeducating. Forward. Go after the Democrats. Make them vote in Congress on Infanticide as the Republicans have been trying to bring the issue to the floor.

Charles W. - April 5, 2019

Infantacide does not do justice to the atrocity being committed. It needs a more descriptive nom such as Newborn Slaughter to drive home the magnitude of this horrible act.

Murder is murder. Bad enough abortion but this action needs to be stopped.

Go after them with everything you can spare.

David Roberts - April 5, 2019

Although we have so many very important issues, a stance on protecting life, from a sociatal point of view is paramount. This is one of many issues showing a degradation of our society.

Death for convienancence is not in the First Amendment!

When will the killing stop? If it is ok to kill a slightly mal formed (or not) child prior to or just after birth, will it eventially be ok to kill an elderly person unable to walk or has Alzheimers. Death for confidence is not in the First Amendment!

God is not happy with us as a nation, one that will allow his children to be put to death.

Joann - April 5, 2019

I was glad when abortion was made legal so young women wouldn’t be butchered by illegal abortions. But this third term abortion stuff has gone way too far. Killing babies is murder.

Mary Hume - April 5, 2019

The first issue I consider in a candidate is whether they are pro life. It is so hard for me to believe that a country that legislates for abortion can survive for long.

Cindi Castilla - April 5, 2019

When we “scale back” on what is true we diminish our stands on other issues. If we deny truth in one area, how do we convince others we are speaking it in another? The truth of abortion is it allows a person and a government to play god by ending innocent life. Abortion takes someone who has hit “hard” and adds pain and heartache to their future. It destroys more than the babies life. How can we ever back away from this truth?

Glenn Niblock - April 5, 2019

The sperm is human, The egg is human. Absent a third species it is axiomatic that the fused sperm and egg is human. That truth continues as other medical names are applied during the stages of its automatic development into a human baby. Denial that the developing being is human requires willful ignorance.

NICHOLAS DELONG - April 5, 2019

For many people Pro life is a one issue decision. .We can not vote for anyone who is not pro life. If a nominee is not willing to protect our own children .where is their morality.

Craig Johanson - April 5, 2019

Abortion is an issue to be discussed between a patient and her doctor. Other
family members should perhaps be con-
sulted. If the parties involved are religious
bring in clergy. This is not the governments
business!

Kenneth Ramsey - April 5, 2019

Save the children. If the Senate and House can’t do more then cash their checks then let’s all write to each of them. Do more than one message. Do one message each day! Lean on them and expect from them to do what the majority of this country wants. Also let it be known to the people of those who are against this law.

Kay Bieber - April 5, 2019

Protecting human life & ending murder should NEVER be lowered on the priority of our nation….we must expect that whatever we sow, we will also reap.

Sharon Nicoll - April 5, 2019

Infanticide is one of the most heinous crimes that can be committed. To make this horror legal is beyond unconscionable. By all means, focus on this most important issue and pass the Born Alive Protection law!

Charles Hawkins - April 5, 2019

Don’t do it! Keep up the fight!

Roy Christoffel - April 5, 2019

Keep the pressure on Congress to pass the Born Alive act. Show those that are wavering pictures taken during Gosnells trial.

Jon Tom McAnear - April 5, 2019

Abortion must be stopped!! Abortion will be the downfall of America.
Abortion is murder – murder is against the law.
Simple as that to me.

CAROL KLEIN - April 5, 2019

WE CANNOT RELENT, WE MUST KEEP UP THE MOMENTUM AND FIGHT WITH ALL OUR MIGHT FOR RIGHT. A LIFE CANNOT BE SNUFFED OUT BY MAN, WE HAVE NOT THAT RIGHT..ONLY GOD THE CREATOR HAS ANY RIGHT OVER THE CREATURE.

Linda Rosene PhD - April 5, 2019

I agree with “Anonymous: The Electoral College is critical to America remaining a Republic with ALL Americans’ freedoms guaranteed by the importance of each VOTE being as powerful as all other VOTES.

The relentless false messaging by the Left, FAKE NEWS threaten President Trump’s 2020 re-election. GOP needs to be GIANTS in relentlessly marketing the Trump brand, minute by minute, day by day, month by month.

w. June - April 5, 2019

Evil always delivers the opposite of what it promises! Abortion as birth control is evil. For The most part if women want control of their bodies, they might start with their knees. They are not ignorant of the seed that grows when planted!! As long as women are in the controlling business, Might pay huge dividends if women would control the men. Seems a good deal of men will not control themselves. Seems the unfortunate baby is of no consideration at all! NO We will not scale back on defense of the unborn just for your few moments of a roll in the hay. If you do not want a woods colt, stay out of the woods! Babies in the womb are living feeling precious little people!!!

Susan Reed - April 5, 2019

RIGHT TO LIFE? It’s preeminent over a Woman’s Right to Abort. The Mother’s decision should not be about her Civil Rights or Human Rights, not even her declared Medical Rights. Abortion of a Healthy Neonate, actually a viable baby, is Infanticide. There are Third World Countries, said to practice Infanticide, leaving Right to Life, as what?
“Good Luck, you get to live Baby Person.”
Eventhough unprotected by your Parent, you are protected by Humanity & The US Constitution. It is your Right to Life, that is Preminent, Baby. Not your Mother’s Right to abort. If the Doctor has aborted you within the womb, and you lived upon birth, you still have a Right to Life, which includes Medical Care & Measures for Survival.

Tom Lanners - April 5, 2019

I said to myself, and some of my friends and family, when nine people said it was okay for a woman to kill the life inside her, that America would come to rue that day. If Conservatives as moral people, “scale back on abortion” we are truly lost as a Nation, under God.

Ellen - April 5, 2019

A society does not have a future without the babies. The baby lights up our lives.
The womb does not carry a fetus but a baby.

Mary K. Maley - April 5, 2019

I would ask how one can be conservative and not believe in the God-given right to life of every human being, guaranteed in America’s constitution. If one’s right to life can be voted away, then the rights to liberty and the pursuit of happiness mean nothing, either.

Anonymous - April 5, 2019

Those who would have the conservative movement scale back the abortion issue need to reeducate themselves as to why they support murder. The conservative movement should pressure Congress to vote on infanticide and expose those who are in favor of it.

TKHJR - April 6, 2019

If there is a heartbeat, there is life.
Taking away that life, before, or after birth, is murder! The right to life is an absolute tenet of our constitution and the protection of that life is of the utmost importance to our American quality of life itself!

Earl Gershenow - April 6, 2019

Late term-term abortion of a fetus is immoral and should be unlawful unless it is determined to be medically necessary.as determined by two qualified physicians Further if the fetus is likely to be or is s life being and is put to death that act should be considered to be murdered by all persons involved and should be subject to severe criminal charges and sentences. All laws to the contrary should be subject to removal by appropriate State or federal governments and courts. There are many families in the U.S.A. that would be thrilled to adopt a living human life.rather than see its death.

Kathy - April 6, 2019

It is easy to say not now. That is fear. Faith and fear cannot coexist. Pray for courage and the unborn. Then stand strong in the Lord. He shall bring it to pass. Abortion is defiance of God and is a cruel worship of a god self and is as evil as the holocaust. Stand like at the wall of Jericho. It is right to do that.

Rochelle E Staffieri - April 6, 2019

Nothing is more important than saving lives. The infants that have survived an abortion attempt must be kept alive. After that is secured, other issues will follow.

Marion Sencer - April 6, 2019

I truly believe that late term abortion and allowing babies to die because of a botched abortion is murder. A society that does not protect it’s most vunerable members doesn’t deserve the right to survive and it won’t.

Marion Sencer - April 6, 2019

I truly believe that late term abortion and allowing babies to die because of a botched abortion is murder. A society that does not protect its most vunerable members doesn’t deserve the right to survive and eventual it won’t.

Ann Hunter - April 6, 2019

Stop the heinous crime of infanticide! Recognize that it is a mortal crime and treat it accordingly.

Can you imagine what must be going through the minds of children? They now know that giving life to a child is the most terrible sentence a woman can receive, and she must be allowed to kill it no matter what.

Today’s children know that, generically, they are not wanted. No wonder they lack respect. No wonder they tune out the older generation.

What is wrong with Congress? We must not put up with this.

Dave Mehelas - April 6, 2019

A newborn is the most vulnerable soul. on earth. The pro-abortionists have gone too far.

Mary Ann Lawlor - April 6, 2019

Late abortions are barbaric and infanticdes are inhuman. We should limit abortions to the first trimester as a necessary evil to avoid invasions of privacy too difficult and divisive to enforce.

Jennifer Haar - April 6, 2019

As others have said, the first inalienable right in the Declaration of Independence is LIFE. It is the bedrock of our civil society – the sanctity of life, born and unborn.

Bill Flavin - April 6, 2019

Don ask me. Ask the children soon to be mrdered. Then remind those supporting this killing that sooner or later they will travel the same death and what do they expect will be their welcome? Reality is no one gets out of here alive.

Barbara Kaper - April 6, 2019

Keep on the pressure against infanticide in our nation. I’m sorry my Republicans didn’t stand United during Obama years to STAND Pro Life.

Patricia Petrecca - April 6, 2019

This is absolutely NO time to scale back the conversation on this issue. Science, women’s health and cultural awareness are shifting toward the truth of the long held prolife position. The abortion billion dollar industry is failing and their scorched Earth policies will fail as well

Richard Rush - April 6, 2019

We must not scale back regarding any kind of abortion – There have been 60 million lives taken in the US alone.

John Crawford - April 6, 2019

Yes,scale back on abortion issue. Most of us are against abortion and we need to protect viable babies. But the left is using the issue to keep us from the real issue which is winning elections and therefore power. Stay focused

john - April 6, 2019

Abortion stops a beating heart! Tim Tebow will not be here if his mother had succeeded in aborting him….let us keep praying to turn this atrocities around…how can God bless this nation with this going on…

Katy Libke - April 6, 2019

Never scale back momentum to save the lives of these babies, but may it multiply to the degree that it will bring change, ending this abomination on our country. 📣

Mary Matthews - April 6, 2019

I concur totally:
Matthew Ripplinger – April 5, 2019
“Now is the time to strike: national attention is on the horrendous late-term abortion practices. This issue is at the heart of our morality, which is at the heart of the God-given success of America. NO social or economic issue is more important than our respect for life.”

Roger - April 6, 2019

NO to scaling back. Abortion is murder, PERIOD.

Mary Cobb - April 6, 2019

EVERY LIFE IS PRECIOUS IN GOD’S SIGHT. WOULD YOU WANT TO FACE HIS WRATH?

Kate - April 6, 2019

The issue is out there and at the forefront of our attention. Keep it up, focusing on the extreme step taken to allow infanticide. We need our churches to be more vocal about the issue, and to speak up for supporting women who have an unplanned pregnancy, that there are alternatives to abortion.

Joy Jones - April 6, 2019

Babies lives matter!

Karl Klonowski - April 6, 2019

Agree with those who say no to scaling back. In addition to being murder, especially after a child is born, there are practical aspects: the general population of whites (and blacks ?) is declining — the younger generations who are being taxed to support older generations face a lower standard of living; and/or many oldsters will face cutbacks to their pensions and other retirement incomes. According to some studies, it is only due to immigration from Latin America and some other countries that the overall population keeps rising, and with their labor, our taxes do not become overly burdensome.

James Hargraves - April 6, 2019

Keep fighting to promote a pro-Life agenda

Karl Klonowski - April 6, 2019

NO to scaling back on abortion issue, and especially infanticide. Apart from being murder, need to look at practical aspects of declining white (and black?) populations. The younger generations are hit with more taxes and lower standard of living due to support of larger numbers of seniors and their rising medical costs, and retirement payments. According to some studies, only the large number of immigrants from Latin America with their cheap labor keep the population growing and contribute to Social Security and overall economic/tax base.

David Arthur - April 6, 2019

There is no higher moral responsibility than to protect life and and advance tge opportunity of others to live of purpose.
If, as a society, we place no value on the rights of the unborn than we will travel down a dead end road that leaves mankind nowhere.

Tom Davis - April 6, 2019

No! We can focus on many issues. We need to keep Right to Life front and center to show all Americans just how evil the Left has beome!

Pam - April 6, 2019

We must not back down now! The future of our country is at risk! Lives are being destroyed! If life itself is not revered, nothing else will matter! Abortion must end or the USA will end! May God in His great mercy help us persevere to the end!

Lillian Smith - April 6, 2019

WE ARE A CIVILIZED COUNTRY AND PRETTY WELL INFORMED. WE HAVE HAD BIRTH CONTROL PILLS AS WELL OTHER FORMS OR MEASURES TO PREVENT PREGNANCY. SO WHY IN THIS DAY AND AGE ARE WE HAVING SO MANY ABORTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY? SUCH A SIMPLE THING TO DO TO PREVENT PREGNANCY HAVE WE BECOME TOTALLY DUMB OR BETTER YET STUPID NOT TO DO IT. LET JUST SAY FOR SOME REASON OR ANOTHER ALL THIS MEASURES DID NOT WORK AND A PERSON GOT PREGNANT. THEY COULD HAVE HAD AN ABORTION BEFORE WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH, BUT THIS PERSON WAITS TO HAVE THIS BABY. WE HAVE ,MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT COULD NOT HAVE CHILDREN, THAT WOULD ADOPT A CHILD. WE DO NOT KILL A LIVING HUMAN BEING AND IF A DOCTOR IS PARTY TO THIS HE WILL HAVE TO FACE CHARGES. THAT IS A LIVING HUMAN BEING, A DOCTOR IS OBLIGATED TO HELP THIS HUMAN BEING AND NOT DOING SO IS AGAINST THE LAW. LEGAL AS WELL AS HIS HIPPOCRATIC OATH. THIS IS SIMPLE. LILLIAN SMITH

James Smith - April 6, 2019

Murder of the innocent is not negotiable!

Ann Weigler - April 6, 2019

The abortion issue should be kept front and center until resolved.

Eileen Collins - April 6, 2019

Sadly the USA has legalized the destruction of the most innocent. Christians must continue to fight against the evil of abortion.

Philip Allen - April 6, 2019

Murder is murder even when the victim is in a womb, a place that God designed to be a safe haven for infant growth.

Patrick Wren - April 6, 2019

Agreeing to the murder of babies before or after birth is the MOST CRITICAL OF ALL ISSUES! It has to be stopped or it will be our death sentence as a nation! PERIOD!

Marian Jones - April 6, 2019

This is a key issue. It’s basic. Dion’t ever scale back.

Susan T Priest - April 6, 2019

If the shedding of innocent blood in abortion is not stopped, this country will perish. “Innocent blood pollutes the land.” We have an eerie blanket of deception that has settled over many people, probably millions. They no longer know right from wrong. It’s like they wander around in the dark, without even common sense.

Suzanne Russell - April 6, 2019

The abortion issue is paramount to our country’s success. If we are a nation who supports killing our future, then we are doomed. Not only by physical lives, but also morally and in the social mores. How can we say every person counts and can have the American dream? We can’t. Only by living and valuing life can we grow and be the people we were meant to be.

Bonnie - April 6, 2019

Mist keep up this fight and publicize the names of Congress people who support infanticide

Pam Cook - April 6, 2019

Protecting the lives of babies is probably the most important issue of our time! It shows our heart attitude and we must not give up until all babies are protected.

J. L.. Schmerbauch - April 6, 2019

Promote seeing the movie, “Unplanned”, otherwise known as “The Silent Scream”, courtesy of Lisa Rose, founder of Live Action.

Allegra Kitchens - April 6, 2019

I’d bring a live newborn baby to Congress, get up to the podium, place the baby on it so all could see and hear it. Then I’d ask which ones of you are willing to come up and kill this baby? I’d tell them that is what abortions up to 9 months and after delivery are doing. I think if they saw for themselves what that baby looks like they would change their minds on abortion.

Nancy Berg - April 6, 2019

No scaling back on Abortion issue. Stay firm.

Rochelle Farmer - April 7, 2019

Please continue you efforts to end the outragous infanticide. My prayer is that God will deliver us from this evil. God make your way prosperous and give you good success.

Adrian Wilson - April 7, 2019

The border is our biggest issue right now.

Laun Maher - April 7, 2019

This debate can easily be settled with asking each of the congress members these2 questions on record: What would have happened to you if your mother aborted you in the way you are voting for, and why is it ok for you to be alive but not for these babies?

Stan VandenBerg - April 7, 2019

Killing babies is barbaric!

Juanita M Sattler - April 8, 2019

Without life, what else matters We can choose many other things to dwell on, but giving and accepting life at every stage is God’s work for every one of us.

Duane Tinkler - April 8, 2019

No to abortion. Keep up the pressure.

Gayle Sackett - April 8, 2019

Life is the one most universal issue bar none! That isn’t to say others are way less important, but when we do not value life, nothing else does matter.

Sandra Gordon - April 8, 2019

This is the most important issue in America today! Do not let up on fighting for the protection of the unborn and the “just born.”
As well as all pro-life issues.

All lives matter!

Carl Rolfsen - April 9, 2019

Should be a no brainer, especially for those who tout “our values”. However, what are the “our values” of those who refuse to vote.

Carl Rolfsen - April 9, 2019

PS, BUILDING THE WALL IS IMMORAL, BUT KILLING BABIES IS NOT???

Carl Rolfsen - April 9, 2019

PS, BUILDING THE WALL IS IMMORAL, BUT KILLING BABIES IS NOT???

ROSALIE REMILLARD - April 9, 2019

THIS IS A HORRENDOUS ISSUE.
CAN’T BELIEVE ANYBODY THINKS IT’S OK TO KILL THE CHILDREN..
IF THE CHILD IS VIABLE IT SHOULD BE
NURTURED AND HANDED ON TO ONE
OF THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO
WOULD LOVE A CHILD.

Jacqueline Heyneman - April 10, 2019

This is a human life. Are we into murder now? Abolish Planned Parenthood soon.

Keep focusing on this as well as other important issues

H J hansborough - April 19, 2019

about not killing (murdering) If we don’t follow GOD’s Commandmenst in this country anymore, He probably will not be there for us when we heed him the most; When we are at war and need him
as we always have in past wars.
