A new Heritage Foundation video reveals the Obama administration’s changing story about the Benghazi, Libya terrorist attacks that claimed the life of Ambassador Chris Stevens. And Heritage’s Helle Dale has produced a chronology of key events leading up to and following the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi.

In today’s Morning Bell, Heritage’s Amy Payne concludes:

Around the world, Americans put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect their fellow Americans and our interests. We know they are targets. We know we can’t win every battle or prevent every terrorist attack. We don’t expect our government to be perfect. We do, however, expect it to be honest. We also expect, in a post-9/11 world, for our government to do a better job at “connecting the dots” and sharing information before the enemy strikes. The lesson of Benghazi is clear. One way or another, our government has failed us.

What do you think of the administration’s actions in Libya?

I think we need a new President. Obama has caused too many headaches and confusion.

Did I miss some info provided. How did AMB.. Stevens
DIE? Was he captured alive? Was he pulled through the streets?

It seems odd to me that a video would be blamed for the attack, especially in light of a similar attack on Camp Bastion at the same time In an attempt to kill UK’s Prince Harry. Surely the regime would not have us believe that Prince Harry had anything to do with a video.

The White House story never made sense. How can you say you don’t know what caused the attack on the embassy and yet blame a video produced in a country that use to support free speech? I pray we won’t have to endure another four years of this circus.

The State Department watched the attack on our consulate in real time through the security cameras on site. They have lied about the attack because they did not want to show what a failure Obama’s Arab Spring has been.

I understand that some just want the facts. But I also I do question if the real story needs to be told. I don’t see it not being told due to Machiavellian politics, but due to protecting current covert operations. If they were there working for the CIA, that most likely means operations are still on going. Publicly going into detail stating the real reason they were in Libya could put these operations in grave risk.

These men were SEALs, they spent their adult lives carrying out vitally important tasks….and getting no recognition for it. They did not take on this career for fame or attention, but for much loftier ideals. I bet that they and their families would completely understand why their specific reason for being in Libya was not overtly stated.
There are very specific and – on a macro basis very important strategic and sensitive reasons why some operations are considered to be “COVERT”. And the national interest reasons why they must be “covert” is classified to protect these operations and none of our (the general public) business in terms of the “need to know” interest in protecting our national interest.
This is why there are many times that such secrets remain classified for years after the operations ceased to be important and the individuals responsible have moved on.

I never thought I’d live to see our government putting up with such atrocities! Remember Watergate? And nobody got killed in that scam but oh you would have thought there were mass killings. Now we put up with anything as long as it leans to the left!!
