Earlier today, The Heritage Foundation’s Board of Trustees announced that Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) will replace Ed Feulner as Heritage’s President starting in April

Feulner and DeMint called in to Rush Limbaugh’s radio program this afternoon to discuss the news. Here’s an excerpt:

RUSH: Senator Jim DeMint. Why have you decided to retire from the Senate to take this on?

DEMINT: Rush, it was the Heritage Foundation that inspired me to run for Congress, and many of the policies I’ve developed, whether it be Social Security reform or health care reform, tax reform, Heritage has guided that policy development. And I believe that I can do more good for the conservative movement outside of the Senate in leveraging the assets of the Heritage Foundation to communicate a more positive, optimistic message to the American people.

Watching FOX News this afternoon and saw Bret’s interview with Senator DeMint. I support his decision to join the Heritage Foundation. It prompted me to become a member. He may very well be able to help more outside the Senate. I wish him the best.

God Bless Jim! I know he will be great force for good in America for a long time. Jim is a fighter with great conservative principles! What a great choice to lead the premier conservative voice!
