After last night’s presidential candidates’ debate, The Heritage Foundation generated two word clouds, one created for President Obama’s remarks and the other for Gov. Mitt Romney’s.

These word clouds illustrate the top 50 words that were used by both candidates during the debate. The bigger the word appears on the cloud, the more often it was used by each candidate.

Tell us: what differences do you see in the word clouds?

Oboma was seen for the empty chair he is by millions of Americans & no MSM to protect him for the first time.

Governor Romney’s emphasis is on America and its people, Obama’s emphasis was attacking Mr. Romney.

I would add a few words to Obama’s cloud that he said more often than anything….”I”, “Me”, “My”, “Mine”.and “um”.
Mr. Romney on the other hand used…”our”, “we”, “Americans”, “us”.
Personal pronouns are a reflection of “self-vs-others”. Very revealing!

This is my first word cloud reading!
On Mr. Obama’s cloud it looks like he kept talking about Governor Romney going .. about businesses
On The Governor’s cloud it appears that he was speaking about what a plan for the people to get to do what they want.

Romney focused on people not government.

People were bigger in Mr. Romney’s list of words, while Mr. Romney was targeted by Mr. Obama many times. Government was greater for Mr. Obama than for Mr. Romney.

Fully convinced that the president and his administration
Underestimate the intelligence of those who are closely
Watching! They may fool some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time!

Look’s like, Governor Romney is putting the people first and, Obama is worried about Romney!!!

Paul Stahl - October 4, 2012

Hmmm, Romney is a People Person and that means he is just folks, I don’t think I would be at a loss for words if I were ever to meet Mitt face to face because I believe we could have a conversation without any underlying adgenda.
Obama on the other had seems so focused on Governer like he is questioning the former Governor ability to lead…I’m not stating this well…maybe what is going on in his thought process is “How can a governor be a serious contender for President”…still not explained well, but thats all I got.

hmmm. it appears that most of the president’s comments were defensively responsive to the mere appearance of an opponent in the debate. Uh, rightly so, don’t you think?

Annette S. - October 4, 2012

We have a candidate who appears to be mostly concerned with – gosh – us. Isn’t that spectacular?

We, the people!

Eau Fraiche - October 4, 2012

Doesn’t it appear that the president is mostly concerned with taking an offensive position? Obviously, “Romney” is a most important word.
He is a bright man!

Susan D Garman - October 4, 2012

Apparently, Mitt is more focused on the People and Obummer is obsessed with Government, then on Romney.

Rob. Richards - October 5, 2012

Obama thinks in term of Big Goverment.
Rommey thinks in terms of people

Obviously, if we want a government of ,by,and for the people, Mitt Romney is our man.
