Help Heritage educate the public on immigration
June 1, 2007 | By Nathaniel Ward
Have you had a chance to listen to The Heritage Foundation’s newest radio advertisement calling attention to the Senate’s plan to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants?

It has played on hundreds of radio stations nationwide this week—all part of our work to ensure the American people know the facts about immigration.
We need your help to get the truth about the consequences of amnesty out to the public.
While we have placed this ad on radio stations in many parts of the country, our resources are limited. By sending this ad to ten or even 20 people, you can help Heritage spread the conservative message to many more people.

Federal preschools?
No Child Left Behind set a bad precedent for increased federal intervention in school decisions that should properly be left to parents and local governments. Now, reports Heritage education expert Dan Lips, some liberals are calling for federal controls on preschool.
“Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) recently unveiled a proposal for a new $10 billion federal program to offer government-subsidized preschool for all children across the country,” he writes.

Debunking liberal myths about poverty and inequality
As they make the case for massive government intervention in the economy, liberals like to point to statistics suggesting an expanding gap between rich and poor.
Not so fast. It’s a bit more complicated, argues Heritage expert Paul Winfree.

Beefing up America’s image overseas
As America continues to fight the war on terror, the nation must adopt a “sustained and focused strategy” to turn its overseas image around, Heritage research fellow Lisa Curtis argued recently before Congress.
Poll after poll suggests that America’s image overseas is badly in need of a makeover, especially among moderate Muslims who could be key allies in the war on terror, she reported. “In order to isolate and defeat the extremists’ agenda, we need to win support from moderate Muslims worldwide”
