Heritage gets the message out

July 3, 2007| By Nathaniel Ward

At Heritage, we recognize that if our ideas for conservative reform are going to advance in Washington and around the country, we must break through the media spin—and take our message directly to the American people. Last night, Heritage experts took to the airwaves nine different times, demonstrating exactly how we’re getting the job done.

  1. Yesterday afternoon, foreign policy expert Sally McNamara discussed terrorism in London on “Henican and White,” on New York City’s WOR Radio.
  2. Then, on MBN’s “Prime Time America,” McNamara again discussed the disrupted terrorism plots in the UK.
  3. At about the same time, Middle East scholar Jim Phillips discussed the possibility of a terrorist attack on U.S. soil on Relevant Radio’s “The Drew Mariani Show.”
  4. A few moments later, defense expert  Mackenzie Eaglen explained defense contracts on Bloomberg TV’s “Money and Politics.” (Watch online)
  5. In the 6:00 p.m. hour, Nile Gardiner of Heritage’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom appeared on CNN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” to discuss the immigration policies of the United States and Britain in relation to the threat of terrorism.
  6. A half hour later, Gardiner spoke on the terror plot on Fox News Radio’s “The John Gibson Show.”
  7. Foreign policy expert Peter Brookes discussed Hezbollah’s activities in Iraq in the 7:00 p.m. hour on CNN Headline Prime’s “The Glenn Beck Show.” (Watch online)
  8. Kirby Research Fellow Baker Spring spoke about missile defense shortly thereafter on Accent Radio Network’s “The Lynne Breidenbach Show.”
  9. Gardiner appeared one last time, on FOX News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” to discuss the terror plots in Britain and how new Prime Minister Gordon Brown might handle the challenge. (Watch online)
