Young executives meet with Heritage experts

A group of Southern California executives known as the “San Gabriel Forty-Niners” visited The Heritage Foundation on Tuesday for a briefing with Heritage experts.
After a brief introduction from Vice President of Development John Von Kannon, the 52 visitors met with Ronald Reagan Fellow Edwin Meese III. During the presentation, Meese discussed current issues facing the courts and constitutional law, including questions on immigration and commerce, and took questions from the group about his experience as President Ronald Reagan’s Attorney General.
Later in the morning, the group met with Mike Franc, Heritage’s Vice President of Government Relations. Franc talked about the overall atmosphere in Congress, including the recent fiscal irresponsibility, and fielded several “inside baseball” questions about Congress.
The Forty-Niners, former members of the Young Presidents’ Organization, a national group representing young executives, arranged for a briefing at Heritage’s headquarters during a trip to the nation’s capital.
