Sen. Coleman speaks on UN Internet control
November 17, 2005| By The Heritage Foundation
Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) spoke to The Heritage Foundation today about the dangers of turning over control of the World Wide Web to the United Nations.
The Bush administration has so far held firm against demands from China, Iran and others that the United Nations be given control over the naming of websites. Such a policy would rob America of its sovereignty and could even result in United Nations censorship of the Internet.
Sen. Coleman was joined on the Internet governance panel by Rep. John Doolitte (R-CA), Adam Thierer of the Progress and Freedom Foundation and Heritage's John Tkacik and James Gattuso.
